Guest filao Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Hi all, just introducing myself to the forum. Getting my C500 on Friday and I can't wait. I've been after a new phone for ages and have been looking at a Nokia 8910i on eBay 'cos I've always loved the look of the phone. But then I saw the C500 in an Orange shop and once I got someone to show me the working thing I needed to have it! Anyway, I know this has been mentioned before (I've spent the last 2 hours reading posts from this forum) but I got mine from MobilesUK.net who are doing it for free with 10 months 1/2 price line rental (and I was gonna buy it sim free). I'm only after the handset, I already have a perfectly good PAYG sim with 5 free texts a day, which suits me. Also bought myself a case after reading about the dust problem, and am looking at getting the Martin Fields Overlay+ when it comes out. Also thought I'd mention that 256MB Mini-SD cards on eBuyer are £20 including VAT and free delivery; cheaper getting 2 of these than 1 512MB (although there's hassle of changing the cards) ... just waiting (like lots on here from what I've read) for the 1GB version. Also seen the Parrot CK3100 and CK3300, anyone got any experiences of either of these with the C500? So, I think that's it for now. Laters. ____ http://www.filao.org
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Just have to say, the dust problem is not something i would buy a case for, it is very subjective, i have a busy life and to be honist thieir is lots of dust in my house, and i have had no problems, i cant see one spec of dust in my phone. i have not been protecting , just using the phone as normal. compare this to someone that said he had the phone for 3 days, does not live in a dusty enviroment and had a problem! if it was me i would have taken it back to the shop or orange. anyway like i said, if you use your phone normally and you phone is fine you should not get dust in the screen. it is a waste of time, money and makes the phone look bad(in my opinion). you can buy a 512mb mini sd card of oraca logic ltd for less than 50 quid inc delivery!
