NEED Help - My SP3 wont call or receive - Tmobile

I am in San Francisco CA and I am on tmobile with an unbranded imate SP3. lately i have noticed that for no apparent reason, when i have not used the phone for say an hour or so, it wont place any calls when i go to use it. and i have been told my phone goes to voicemail when friends call. a cycle of the power on and off will fix it but what the hell!

anyone know what may be wrong or if i need to do something with the network settings? one thing that is sort of not right is that my phone says Cingular when its really T-Mo but that is pretty common with factory unlocked phones.

this is a major prob! the phone basically decides not to be a phone after i have used it for a bit then stop.

no one ever replied to this...hope now with the other new post about signal hell that someone may have some insight.

i think it has to do with this phone not having the most up to date info on cell towers in the US and when it loses the signal it has a hard time cycling through them all to get one i can connect to.

any thoughts?
