Guest tay Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I want to forward pop3 mail though a firewall from a different port other than 110. Can it be done ?
Guest beersoft Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 errm yes and yes to change the pop3 port add :123 or whatever the port number is after the server name to get pop3 on a different port is a lot more complicated, and posibly not smartphone related (but if you did something with nat and port redirection that might work) later Owen
Guest tay Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 I have been trying that but did not want to continue if the c500 email client did not support it. I understand what's involved from the firewall / server end. Cheers Do you think that would be the best interim solution for picking up mail on the road. I have exchange 2003 with OWA and https all configured. I am not really keen on the OMA client it seems pretty naf to me. I have been looking into the active sync but that seems to be a dead end from Orange even with the internetvpn gprs connection from what I read or do I mis-understand.
