Guest rodrigoperu Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Hi guys, I searched for an answer to this previous to posting, but was unable to find it. I know the phone has 32 mb of ram and 64 of rom memory. My question is how can I free up memory (both of them) on the phone? It says that both are at 50% capacity (using SmartMonitor plugin to read that) and since I have loads of things to run on it, I want to have more free memory so the phone won't slow down. Also, and please correct me if I'm wrong; the ram is used for storage, right? and if so, what is the rom memory on the phone for? thanks in advance.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 The ROM is the operator OS / standard software etc. You have no control over this and it will stay constant unless you flash an upgrade or another operator's ROM over it. To avoid using up your RAM, install all third-party software to the storage card and avoid filling up your Application Data folder with excess ringtones and homescreens. It also helps to keep emails & texts to a minimum. You will nonetheless suffer unexplained menmory loss but a reboot of the phone will cure this.
Guest zerosignull Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The system's ram will not fill up because you put more porgrm's in the internal storage. THe e200 has a single shared internal storage that is broken up for o/s, ram, files. the 64mb is where the os and the ram resides and the other 32~ is for programs. Keep programs you use alot on the phone and all your media on the Memory cards
