Guest GOD 2.0 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Hi Guys and Gals, Need some help with this one, and by the way, yes I am new to this forum. I've got some home movies which I made with my phone, and they are not the type of movies I could show to somebody who works in an Orange shop (If you know what I mean  ), but the problem is I cant play these movies on my PC, I have downloaded some file that allows me to play them on Windows Media Player, but I get no sound from the film, and they play with no probs on my phone. Please help me as eventually I want to put these files on to VCD or DVD.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Welcome to the forum mate  What format are you recording in ? I've just tested avi & MPEG4 and sound & vision are working with both on my PC. I haven't had to download any extra software, Quicktime handled MPEG4 & WMP picked up the avis. Are you sure you've got audio on in the phone's video options ? Perhaps you could upload an example here for us to check for you ? We'll be very discreet
Guest GOD 2.0 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The format usally comes out as MP4, I've tried to run this on Quicktime, do I have to have the pro version of this. I'm going to try and record them in AVI format tonight  I would upload the files on here but some people might get offended  (Whats wrong with a film of your girlfriend playing with her purple toy)
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I haven't got Quicktime Pro, so no, you don't need it. Yeah, probably best you don't upload them  Good luck anyway and have a good time tonight
Guest GOD 2.0 Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Things I have to do for science, Last night I tried filming in AVI format and guess what? It worked, it plays through media player. Guess what? Just tried filming in MPEG format and hey presto it works perfectly through media player  I believe this has all got to do with the Orange ROM update. Thank you Orange. =D> I see Hollywood calling.......or is that Bollywood? P.S. Anybody now what are the best settings to use to get the best home movies?
Guest Confucious Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Dunno, but if you want to send me copies of your movies  :D I'll see if they work on my PC....
Guest mfioble Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 I have the same issue on a AudioVox 5600. The avi's work fine, but they take up more space than the mpeg4's. I can play the video on the desktop media player 10, but no sound comes out. Tried to add attachment but didn't work. Huh, had to add to this as my work PC can play the mpeg4's ok with Quicktime (version 6.5.2). Windows Media Player can still can not play the sound (version 10.00.00.3646)
