Hy everybody

Is there any Alarm Clock Program that allow you to shut down the smartphone and still make the alarm ring at the choosen time?

I used to have a Nokia 6600, and it had this wonderfull option. Is there any program to do the same on my new Qtek 8080 Smartphone?

Thanks in advance

Don't know if that is exactly true.

remember back in the Smartphone 2002 days John Cody released all the EVB stuff for the smartphone :?:

One of his projects is Sat alert I have not tried it personally but it states

And if you have a Pocket PC, Palm/Visor PDA or a Smartphone, you can sync it to Outlook and it will automatically power on and beep to remind you just before each viewing

So perhaps all we need is some enterprising programmer to make such and alarm clock application, if someone did make one I would definitely use it and wouldn't mind paying too much.

Its possible with ppc, as that doesnt turn off as such but goes to sleep. With smartphones there is no hardware support for alarms, its os driven, so when the os is not there alarms cant be either :/

You are telling me that my old Nokia 6600 OS was always on (sleeping, but on) ??

I think this is a black mark on this device. Don't you (smartphone users) think?

Thanks for your answers.

Nah there are differences between nokias and smartphones.... Like i said its not possible with the hardware of current smartphones - nokia hardware is different so it depends on how they were designed
