Guest toon9 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Has anyone encountered the problem of not being able to install applicaitons, after having installed the Orange UK ROM update for the C500 ? All help appreciated. Cheers in advance
Guest squall Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 When you say problems what do you mean?
Guest toon9 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Well, applications that I had installed prior to the ROM update being applied, will now just not install or if they "appear" to install they don't function. Some give error messages, others appear to install OK - but when they are selected from the menu structure - nothing happens. The task does not appear in task manager either.
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Did you install your programs the the sd card before update and not clear it then try to install over the previouse ones. If so i would recommend formatting your sd card and hard resetting your phone to be on the safe side. If not please give some details of what applications you are having the probels with.
Guest toon9 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Have just tried again, with "greatbals playlist manager" (MP3 playlist generator for media player). The application does appear in the menun structure, and when activated, the icon eauivalent to the windows hourglass appears for a second or two and then - nothing. Nothing in task manager listing to show program running. Seriously puzzeled !!!! Thanks in advance for any help
Guest toon9 Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Sorry NIGHMARE ! The apps had not been previously installed to sd card - only to phone.
Guest squall Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I would hard reset and delete active sync partnership and consider formatting sd card, something is getting confused :/
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Have just tried again, with "greatbals playlist manager" Me too and no luck, it looks as if it is just incompatible with the update, sorry. is there any other apps that dont seem to be working?
Guest toon9 Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 is there any other apps that dont seem to be working? Yes - RJV Clock is another I intend to go through some other applications over the next few days, and will report on them all. Has anyone else had similar problems?
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 RJV Clock is another I have just tried it and i am getting a file not found error when running it, it just seems as tho these applications are just not compatible with the update, if you want them to work i think you need to inform the developer of the errors and hope they release a updated versine, not much else that can be done.
