Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Hi Kilroy. Welcome to MoDaCo. What ROM is loaded in your phone? If you are using SmartROM version 1.5 and higher, you will not see a window prompting you to enter the unlock code. I believe it was disabled in those ROMs. You can check your phone's ROM version via Programs > Settings > About Shown below is a screenshot of Orange ROM 1.6.1.10.
Guest Kilroy Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 if i have an Orange rom above 1.5 , how can i remove this lock ? i have the code, the program wrote to the screen i just can't enter it
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 After you got the unlock code, you should restart your phone with a non-Orange SIM card on it then wait for the window asking for the code. Enter the code when prompted.
Guest abusememore Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 how about for version 1.6 and above? is there a solution? like entering also the unlock code? thanks in advance.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Unlocking is that same for all versions except SMART roms as their OS blockes the screen that enables you to enter the code.
Guest BrAGoL Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 as stated by Mod pzee, If you are using SmartROM version 1.5 and higher, you will not see a window prompting you to enter the unlock code. I believe it was disabled in those ROMs. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Yep it was disabled in an attempt tostop people swapping networks
