Guest Oak Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Had my phone for nearly a week and as they say at McDonalds - "I'm Lovin it" Anyway how can I send files to another phone via bluetooth? I can receive files but not send? Also how do you turn off GPRS? I hold home and select disconnect GPRS but the G is still there??? And how do you stop an application after you have finished with it? Other than going to Task manager?
Guest scwaudby Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 The 'G' near the centre of the bar at the top of the screen just indicates that GPRS is available. If you are connected another G appears over the signal indicator. Which one are you trying to get rid of?
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Anyway how can I send files to another phone via bluetooth? I can receive files but not send? You need Binary's Smart Explorer, an essential addition to your Smartphone. This will allow you to send files via Bluetooth. Other than using Task Manager you could get Xbar, which is a Taskbar application for the phone. Make sure you get the latest version as previously it didn't work too well with the C500.

I've ordered a SD card from the MoDaCo shop, can you run programs from the card? side note, I can sync with bluetooth at home as XP SP2 has bluetooth options in Control panel. But at work I have SP1 and it doesn't have the options. And the drivers that came with the bluetooth dongle are crap. Can I get these settings without having to upgrade to SP2
Guest Phil Lee Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 I've ordered a SD card from the MoDaCo shop, can you run programs from the card? I hope you ordered a mini-SD card since that's all the C500 can use. You can install and run programs from the card.

Did your Dongle come with Widcomm BT drivers - if so they are a lot easier to set up than SP2's drivers and work a lot better. What make is the dongle and what version are the drivers?
Guest Oak Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I got the dongle from the orange shop, it not branded. The software that came with it were called something like XTD.... They basically screwed my pc and I couldn't uninstall it, also you couldn't explore the phone only send and recieve files. Don't get me wrong though getting the phone to work with SP2 was an arse! I tried everything from threads on here, then all of a sudden it worked???
