Homescreen ".rar" files

How do you install these types of homescreen files downloaded from kleinweder? Is it like .cab files? Thanks.

.rar is a zip file. you will prob find there is a .cab in the .rar!

No, it's like a zip file.

Google for WinRAR and unpack them PC-side. Inside you will usually find the xml file and the appropriate jpegs. Copy everything inside the unpacked folder to Storage Application Data Home and select in Settings on the phone.

no mate; .rar is just another type of compression, like .zip

you need to go to www.winrar.com and download winrar, then you can unzip (sory, unRAR!) files like normal.

If WinRAR has CAB files selected in it's file associations a CAB file can look like a normal RAR file. Check the extension of the file to see if it's RAR or CAB after the dot.

Ooh, yes. Palindrome is right - we could have been getting it wrong.

Just looked at http://smartphone.kleinweder.ch/downloads/index.php though and the homescreens are all .rar files.
