Guest Fepple Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Heya, Kind of off topic, but I hope intresting to people... I am looking to get a new wireless house phone. My question is: Are there any bluetooth house phones out there? If so are there are any Smartphones which would be compatable with a bluetooth house phone?! Thanks! Matt Jordan
Guest TigerNet Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 ...there is a pre-release bluetooth house phone on www.blueunplugged.com but whether it is compatible with smartphones I don't know... You can also get a bluetooth adapter for your home phone that makes it compatible with bluetooth headsets...
Guest Fepple Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I thought the house phone/mobile compatability was unlikely... After your post I found an adapter for the home phone "BluWireless AirBase BW0412". The only user review I've seen of it is: Too much echo I have used the Airbase with both of my Bluetooth headsets and the same probem occurs with each. The problem is that when I talk I hear my own voice echoed back to me annoyingly through the headset. The party at the other end does not hear this echo. This irritating flaw makes the Airbase unusable in my opinion. The distracting echo makes the fact that the Airbase is easy to set up and pair irrelevant. Could this just be something he has done wrong? I get this problem when I talk to my girlfriend (I think its her fault  ) but its damn annoying! Thanks! Matt
Guest TigerNet Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 ...I use the BlueSpoon version and it works fine...here's a link...http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=110634 Cheers Nick
Guest Fepple Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 ahhh.... on that site it says you can use your mobile with it The Bluespoon Phone kit is a connectivity kit allowing you to use your Bluetooth headset on your home or office phone. You can even use your PDA to autodial a number using it's address book. Simply connect the Bluespoon Phone kit between the wall socket and your landline phone, and your home line is ready to become wireless. Receive any call on your Bluetooth headset - using mobile phones with handsfree and headset profiles, calls can be received automatically between the Bluespoon Phone kit and your mobile phone. I guess you haven't tried this then? Thanks! Matt
