Guest xerxes Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Can anyone tell me how to re-order the items on my Start menu? I have installed PowerCalendar, PowerTasks, SmartphoneNotes and SmartphoneFind (all of which seem excellent to me) and I would like to have those four programs on the first page of my Start menu. I have used the Explore bit in ActiveSync to find the "Storage - Windows - Start Menu" folder, but I cannot see what actually does the ordering of the shortcuts on the menu. Thanks for the help.
Guest squall Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 install jeyo personaliser from www.jeyo.com it lets you re order the start menu
Guest Confucious Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 I should know the answer but I just used Jeyo Personalizer which makes it easy. Either download a copy yourself or wait untol someone tells you the "proper" answer. Good luck.
Guest TigerNet Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 ...I also use jeyo personaliser (it's free by the way)...works great but it only lets you re-order the first 7 items on the start menu...the rest are then put in alphabetical order... Cheers Nick
Guest vazz Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 You can also do it using the START MENU tweak in this page: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=7695
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Here you go one of midnights tweaks You will need the PHM Regedit app, go to the following location, HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftShellStartMenu Select Values then highlight and click on Order You will now see a list of the contents of the Start you can change the order You will need to restart your phone for the changes to take effect. EDIT  spent soo long playing and watching tv while writing this I was beaten to the solution
Guest xerxes Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll try Jeyo first as the reg stuff looks a bit scary to me!
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 i do it the easy way as documented above, i was wondering if the number within the shorcut file has anything to do with it, for example '48#"Storage CardProgram Files EXEswatermanWaterMan.exe"' is a shorcut but what is the 48 used for?
Guest 5IB5 Posted April 12, 2005 Report Posted April 12, 2005 When you're ready for them. When you're not ready for them. Genius
Guest sixonenine619 Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Hey can you guys give me an example of how to do this, I have the regedit progrm, I can get to the file where you're talking about. But it too only lists the first 7 programs, how can i order the rest of them? Can i just make a new folder and move them there?
