Guest mrjuglas Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Hi, I've just installed Pocket Streets 2005 to my Smartphone (original SPV) using the Windows desktop installer and Add/Remove Programs... I've tried installing to both the phone and the storage card, but in both cases I get the "can't find" error. When the program is installed to the storage card and I go to it manually using SmartExplorer, and try to open it there I get a different error: Unable to open the file. The system returned the error "unknown error"! I was wondering if it's because I only have Smartphone 2002, maybe the program only works with 2003... but does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance
Guest Confucious Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 According to MS it works with Smartphone 2002. Presumeably you have tried uninstalling it and then installing it to the phone (just incase you trioed the card first and didn't uninstall). Can't think why it shouldn't work.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 You could always make your own shortcut. Go to the .exe on your storage card, right-click, copy, go to IPSM Windows Start Menu, right-click again, paste shortcut. Or if using Smart Explorer, that would be File, Copy etc
Guest mrjuglas Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Well, I tried installing it to the phone as well as the storage card... and i've repeated that a few times now, always with the same result. I've had this error before with one program - metrofone (a metronome for smartphones) - but I've installed other programs successfully including both unsigned and signed ones. As for pasting a shortcut to the start menu, well if it doesn't work when I click directly on it in Smartexplorer I don't see why a shortcut would have any more luck...
Guest mrjuglas Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Any other ideas or do I have to try a hard reset?

Sorry, I misread your original post  I would doubt that a hard reset would make any difference and I'd be more inclined to go back to your supplier and download the installer again. Then again, it does rather sound like a compatibility problem. A quick search on Pocket Streets on this forum suggests that the software never worked with SP2002 phones.
