SPV Original PayG problems

I've since passed on my original SPV to be used with an orange pay as you go sim. The phone was application unlocked via the orange site so i could install games etc and has never been relocked.

Before i put in the PayG sim i tried it out with my current orange sim, which i use normally in my E200 on a contract. The phone worked ok, i could make calls etc. despite it being in a box in the cupboard for the last year, it was still in good working order.

However, now with its new PayG sim card, it won't allow outgoing calls. Incoming calls are fine, and so are text messages, incoming or sent.

Can anyone help and give me a clue as to why calling is barred? Spoke to OCS and have been through all of the menus that could potentially block calls, but all seem ok.

It might be Orange's problem but just wanted to check that i'm not doing anything wrong with the handset.

All help gratefully recieved

First thing, have you tried the PAYG SIM in another phone? Does it have credit and work in ther phones? Have you tried another SIm in the SPV to confirm that it has not developed a fault?

I have tried the sim in an unlocked o2 phone and it works fine.

Orange think its a sotware problem and suggested that i reinstall the update.

Will lose everything and start from scratch, probably the best way.

Have you SIM Unlocked the SPV? Just a thought (it's free) it might be worth trying. Also, have you tried your contract SIM again?

All is now well in the land of Pay as you go. Its a bit of a mystery as to what was wrong, but whatever it was it has been fixed.

Thanks for the suggestions on this
