How do I play games without sound?

I know this is a really silly question and the answer will be so obvious that I'll kick myself but this has been driving me crazy all week.

I often play games on my phone when I'm on the Tube. In fairness to everyone around me I try not make any bingley bingley bong noises.

On the Treo I can turn off all game sounds from a central setting.

On my Nokia I can turn off the sounds from the game's options screen.

On my (otherwise utterly brilliant) new C500 I cannot find any way to make Smartris or SPV Invaders silent.

Am I overlooking the obvious or is there really no way to do this?

Have you tried adjusting your phone's earpiece volume?

well SPV Invaders has a volume control built into the game as well - just read the readme.txt that comes with it for keys

Pzee,

I don't usually wear the headset. I have tried using the volume keys on the side but they don't seem to effect the volume of the speaker.

Muff,

I didn't get a readme.txt. Just an exe in a zip file. Could you attach the text file if you still have it?

Just turn the phones volume down before loading a game :?

That's what I normally do.

...any bingley bingley bong noises.

  I love it!!!! 'Bingley, bingley bong noises'. Though I must admit, no game I've played makes noises quite like that.

[Yes, OK its Off-Topic, but I'm in a good mood today for some reason]
