Guest jleecong Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I just unlocked my phone yesterday and am having a few problems with certain functions. Issues I'm having. MSN Messenger Failing "Service not found" T-Zones "Page not found" (ONLY T-Zones) MMS Fails to send "Little red X over envelope" (I’m new to this function as I never used it before) Are others having the same problems, or am I just missing a setting somewhere?
Guest mgama Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 I haven't tried going to the TZones site on my 5600, but I know for the old MPx200 you had to modify your data connection settings for it to work. Since TZones doesn't offer anything that I really care about, I just use the data connection settings that allow me to use the internet. I just tried sending my first SMS message, and I received it fine. Make sure you setup the SMS settings: Start > Configurations > MMS Settings > Menu > MMSC Settings: Name: TMobile MMS (you can give it any name you want) MMSC URL: 16.155.174.84/servlets/mms WAP Gateway: 216.155.165.50 Port 9201
Guest jleecong Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 MMSC URL: 16.155.174.84/servlets/mmsTY TY I had 16.115.174.84. Also as a FYI the port also works at 0. I copied my setting from my old phone. Would have helped if I entered everything in correctly  Thanks again the moment I entered the correct IP it worked.
Guest aristoBrat Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 FWIW, MSN Messenger doesn't work on any t-zones plan -- the port it needs to work is blocked. It does work on the $19.99 internet plan. I've never seen anyone get the t-zones WAP page to work. Something about their WAP server detecting Pocket Internet Explorer as not a compatible browser or something like that. Would be cool to hear from anyone who has gotten it to work!
Guest jleecong Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Thanks! I was wondering about the port being blocked I actually did a sniffer trace with the device connected using internet passthrew and it's using like 18XX. Not a common port. I've been looking for a WAP browser to see if it works. Some wap pages I had from my old phone no longer work. T-Zones isn't a big deal. I'm very happy and can't complain. If only I could get the stupic "You got mail" wave file I have to play when I get a email.
Guest aristoBrat Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I think this should work for your mail file: Use ActiveSync to copy your WAV file to StorageApplication DataSounds Then use Start > Settings > Sounds > New e-mail and select your WAV file.
Guest jleecong Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Thanks The problem was that the wave file was encoded with a MP3 codec. Opened it in windows recorder and saved the file with a PCM format. Works fine now.
Guest mgama Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Would be cool to hear from anyone who has gotten it to work! I came across the settings to get TZones to work with Smartphones on the HowardForums site. I think it was either in the TMobile forum, or the Microsoft Smartphone forum. You had to modify the data connections, which then caused any other internet/wap communication to not work (with the exception of TZones). You cannot have both Internet and TZones working at the same time.
