Guest LSmith4285 Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I have just read a "Getting started" guide that a guy posted on here. and i read the following: "Now as standard you can’t download much apart from homescreen skins, music and videos but using a third party file explorer called Smartexplorer will allow you to set Pocket Internet Explorer to download any file type you want" How do I do this? I had the E200 and SmartExplorer and could only download a few things. Also how do I get rid of the Orange bar on the attached screenshot? It seems to appear here and there and I dunno what its called so i can't do a search. Cheers for any advice. Lyless000.jpg
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 To remove the Orange banner have a read of this thread here: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=115332 The answer is in the first post bi BigBlue007, but you'll need PHM Registry Editor to do it As for the SmartExplorer issue, I'm not sure this is the easiest way, but I think this is what they mean... Go to SmartExplorer File Open Manage File Types... Select the extension for the type of file you want to download Menu Edit file type... Now tick the box "Accept download in IE" at the bottom of the screen
Guest LSmith4285 Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Cheers for the quick reply! Is there any quick way to allow them all for download?
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Surely there are only a few different file types you would want to download to your phone, particularly given the fact that you pay for data rather than time ?
Guest LSmith4285 Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Orange staff data is VERY cheep.........
