Guest jvo8 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Device: SMT5600 / C500 For some reason, I lost my voicemail speed dial key. I can't just hold down to 1 to connect to voicemail. I tried to assign a new speed dial for #1 but its reserved and won't let me. Any clue. Thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 You can change the number in StartSettingsPhoneCall Options Normally the number is read from the SIM but it can be known to forget it on occasion.
Guest jvo8 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I did that and its still not working. I can't seem to speed dial #1 anymore. I'll hold down on it and nothing happens. In my speed dial folder, #1 is not there and I can't assign anything to it since its "reserved".
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 It is reserved as it's located in the Settings location listed above.
Guest jvo8 Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Yes, the # is there but the speed dial to that number can not be assigned to activated.
Guest Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Once the (correct) voice-mail number has been set in "StartSettingsPhoneCall Options" pressing and holding the number 1 key should dial voice-mail - you don't need to set it as a speed dial. The 1 key is not a speed-dial as such, it's more of a shortcut to the number stored in the Call Options settings. If it still doesn't work a hard-reset should sort it out (but back-up all your data, etc).
Guest zitman Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Thanks for that guys, its been driving me nuts these last few days but just haven't got round to doing anything. Who says sitting around just surfing the forum is a waste of time? Z
