Anybody got any good tips for preserving battery juice so I can get longer usage time out of my mpx200?

Things to know are:

>I am running the WM2k3 OS

>I have applied the GPS fix

>My battery is 2nd hand so this may be why my life is a little short?

Any Suggestions very welcome

I suppose if you are using it in a well lit room you can turn off the backlight, I turn off the GPRS too, might just be me but I think it saves power.

Have you fully charged the battery before doing a Hard Reset? this will help increase the battery, also

try Task Manager from www.binarys.com this app can allow you to close applications runnning in the background on your phone.

Hmm how do you exclude it from checking the email every few minutes? Or turn the blacklight off?

On the 2003 OS there are options for backlight timeouts and Outer LCD contrast, if u dont mind losing T9 and MMS i suggest you flash your rom

there also in settings>powermanagement on 2k2 phones

i wouldn't "upgrade" to 2k3 as it breaks more things than it gives, and its illegal and if you have any problems with your phone your screwed from a warrenty point of view

I agree after reading a lot about the upgrade I really don't see why I should upgrade while I'm in my warranty period. The phone is great but the battery life is horrible, I call about 30 min a day and that means recharging every day!!

If the battery life would improve with a upgrade I would defenitely do it but looks like there is no difference.

So are the more settings on a 2002 to save battery lifetime?

No need to upgrade ever :)

The battery should last between 2 to 3 days give it a good overnight charge and

never try to discharge the battery as you will damage it.
