Guest graigchq Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Ok, i got my SPV C500 a couple of weeks ago, at first was very impressed with it, i like the WMP, i like the HTTP browsing etc, not too happy with the GPRS charges, but the biggest gripe, is this... I HAVE unlocked my phone (app unlock from orange website - followed link form CoolSmartPhones.com) and i have checked and i have the latest ROM (Windows CE 4.1.1.4) and don't need the update, so i thought i was ready to go. I have downloaded some apps to my Win2000 laptop, and tried to activesync install them, its starts off fine, sends data to and from phone and pc, and then the pc says: check your phone to see if additional steps are required to complete installation so i check my ophone which says: The installation failed because this application is not intended for this device. At first i thought it might be because i downloaded the wrong files for the wrong OS or something, but i have checked, i do indeed have Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, which all the software i downloaded says it is compatible with????!?!?!???! Any help?
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I'm no expert, but I believe that there are different flavours of Windows Mobile 2003 It's possible you have software intended for a PDA not a Smartphone Try going onto Handango, specify the device you have, and download a trial of ... almost anything. All Locations GPRS Traffic Counter might be a good one to try, if it works and you like it you might want to use it to monitor your GPRS usage. Here's a link to makre sure you get the right version: http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDet...ch=gprs+traffic
