Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Have a look in the Settings repository the settings you need will be there, Click on GPRS settings for a direct link. More info is on the first page in the link. Connection name: O2 Internet Connects to: Internet Access Point: wap.o2.co.uk Username: o2wap Password: password Primary DNS: 193.113.200.200 Secondary DNS: 193.113.200.201 IP address: Blank
Guest liv3wire Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 tried that didnt work, my apn on my old sagem myx7 was payandgo.o2.co.uk username was payandgo and password the same, tried these and these dont seem to work either :/
Guest martin Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 liv3wire Try the following settings which should work OK  1) Start>Settings>Data Connections>Menu>Edit Connections Dialup connection: Description: O2 CSD Connects to: The internet Phone number: +447712927927 User name: o2wap Password: password Domain: blank Proxy connection: Description: O2 WAP proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: Wap Network Proxy(name:port): 193.113.200.195:8080 Type: HTTP Username: Password: GPRS Connection: Description: O2 GPRS Wap Connects to: The Internet Access point: payandgo.o2.co.uk Username: payandgo Password: password Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 I.P address: blank In the main data connections menu. Internet connection: O2 CSD WAP WAP connection: O2 GPRS WAP In Internet explorer, Menu-Options-Connections Untick 'automatically detect settings' Make 'Select network: WAP network' (for WAP over GPRS via Proxy server) or 'Select Network: The internet' for GSM CSD connection.
Guest liv3wire Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 thankyou sooo much! i have been pulling my hair out with it, tried loads of diff settings from diff ppl on here and yours are the only ones that work, thanks again
Guest martin Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 No problem  If you also need MMS I'll dig out the settings
Guest liv3wire Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 cheers managed to get it going tho thank god, just another thing tho, webpages take quite a while to load, now im guessing its because of the proxy, is there anyway to just run it as norm wap without the http proxy? ive tried removing the proxy but IE just doesnt want to connect and tells me to check proxy settings lol, its as if the smartphone is dropping the gprs connection once a page as loaded, then u go to open another page and it has to connect again if this makes any sense.
Guest martin Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 If you go to Settings-Data connections-Menu-options you can set the 'Idle disconnect after' to 10 minutes. This will keep the connection active for a total of 10 minutes during idle time (no data transfer). Unfortunately you are forced to use the Proxy server with O2 GPRS WAP as they won't allow connection otherwise :D If you want WML pages rather then HTML pages then you can change the proxy settings to Proxy=193.113.200.195:9201, Type=WAP. Hope it helps
Guest liv3wire Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 cheers mate, seems to be have been ok after a did a reset of the phone, will try that proxy thing aswell to get wml pages, really happy with the phone at the mo now ive got everything working.
