There is a setting on the phone that allows you to conserve power by only using the light when the phone deems it is requiered, i no how to swith this off, what i would like to no , is when it is swithed off, why when i press the keys on the phone tthey do not light up. it does not matter if it is dark or not. Surley when you turn the saver off, it should mean that the lights come on when you press the keys ???!!

The Light sensor on will only light the keypad when the sensor

detects the light level is low enough.

Turning this off will bring the keypad lights on every time you press

a key.

now that is what i would have said as well, but for some reason it will not light up whan i press the keys, could that mean that there is a fault with the phone

so when you have the light sensor swithched OFF. the key pad lights up, is that what you are saying

I've got a black C500 and the key pad lights up just fine.

My wife has just received her 3rd Silver C500 and the key pad steadfastly refuses to light up regardless of the the ambient light and if the light sensor has been swithched off or on!

Anyone else having similar problems?

Is there something I'm missing?

Is it related purely to the silver C500's?

I have a silver C500 so it's not related to that.

On my C500 if you set the option to off - then no matter how many times you press the keypad, it won't light up!

Also, even if you have the setting on, if you have locked the phone and you press a key to wake it up, the screen lights up, but the keys don't - so you can't see what numbers you are entering if you are in a dark place!

So if it is a firmware issue, can anything be done to fix it? It is not a show stopper - but now I wonder if the phone is not doing other things properly

Have a look in the bug topic in the C500 section of the site for

a list of reported bugs.
