tamagotchi style pet

Hello i know this sounds like a sad posting, but is there such a thing a tamagotchi style pet that you can get for smartphones. I remember my first ever tamagotchi when i was younger and it used to be really cool. Then i had a samsung phone which had a pet cat on which i thought was really cool. Now i am wondering is there, or can someone make a tamagotchi style pet for the smartphone. I think as pointless as some might find would be really good and would make a good challenge for any game designer.

Any ideas?

There used to be a prominent thread for people to post their ideas for games for developers to consider. It was very popular and contained many demands for just such a game.

Sadly the idea, having being run up the flagpole, failed to gain the requisite salutes from developers and was forgotten.

I've never seen a Tamagotchi game anywhere for Smartphones, but maybe one day they'll come back into fashion !

that reminds me of The Sims game. if only they would port it over :lol: the ultimate "tamagotchi" game for smartphones! :D

They're back...

My daughter had been hassling me for a Tamagotchi since Christmas and finally managed to get hold of one. Now, she wants to get another one (for her brother) so they can communicate with eachother vir IR :shock:.

So... the logical (to me) question is... Is there now a Tamagotchi for SmartPhone, if not, is there one in the pipeline, and would it be possible to make them compatible to communicate over the SmartPhone's IR port?
