Guest krelvinaz Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 BT headset is cool, but you can't use it to dial out if the phone is in Lock mode. Kinda defeats putting the phone in a protective padded holster. My guess, there is something in the OS that checks for the lock mode and prevents the BT from being able to access the dial ability. Someone who has been digging around it and the registry might know where to look. I would guess it is not a simple as a registry setting but would need a small app to override the mode. Perhaps someone like Midnight might have a clue where to look. The SMT5600 is great because you can use voice dialing, but with lock on you can only answer calls.
Guest yoos Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I agree, does anyone think there is a registry setting for this?
Guest Confucious Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I doubt it, I would have thought the lock program just locks everything (excet the unlock key) and would not have thought there would be a way to create an exception. I would be very happy if I was proved wrong :)
Guest yoos Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 I mapped Xbar to start if I hold in the up volume button. This works even when the keypad IS on, so everything isn't always locked and maybe that's customizable... Also, on some of the posts I see people talking about key lock and keygaurd as if they are different... What's the difference?? I just want to be sure the keys can't be pressed in and accidentally call a number or something and at the same time have the ability to use voice dial through bluetooth.
Guest shadamehr Posted January 6, 2005 Report Posted January 6, 2005 Keygaurd - you have specifically set the phone to lock so that a CODE is required, to unlock and use the phone again. In this mode, voice dialling is not possible either. (Controlled via the phone's security menus I think, to set this up) Keylock - the standard keylock, whereby it prevents accidental dialling by locking the keys. To unlock, a menu button and the * symbol I think it is, is reuired - but the phone GUIDES you as to what to press, so this method is NOT secret. With this, voice dialling IS possible, if I recall correctly. Hope that explains nicely the difference.... PS - @ yoos... I see you have your Moblog image working... Since the board update, mine won't work. Can you return the favour, and answer a question of mine? What did you do to get your images to work? EDIT... Viewed Page Source, on your code, and worked it out - thanks - hope you don;t mind.
