Guest beersoft Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 try installing servicepack 2 the bt drivers in that seem to work with everything (and we won't give links to hacked drivers, because its naughty) later Owen
Guest NastyNick Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 try installing servicepack 2 the bt drivers in that seem to work with everything (and we won't give links to hacked drivers, because its naughty) later Owen I've got SP2 running, and uninstalled my msi drivers (windcom) but when it came to reinstalling drivers, the automatic search didn't pick anything windows had to offer?!?
Guest liv3wire Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 i have already tried this, however when trying to add a outgoing com port it either doesnt find the phone even tho its already bonded, or tells me the phone isnt running the com port service? also looks like xp bluetooth is taking control instead of the msi software, as i have 2 bt icons and one which im presuming is the msi on is red.
Guest Confucious Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 You need to have an outgoing port enabled on your phone. delete the msi BT drivers as you only need the built in BT drivers. when the phone is paired with your PC am modem should be created. and you should reboot the PC with BT turned OFF on the phone. Then turn BT on on the phone and go to ActiveSync on the phone and select connect via BT. If it does not work go to Control Panel ->Phone and Modem Options - > Modem (Or Control Panel ->Printers and other hardware ->Phone and Modem Options - > Modem) and see what COM port has been asigned to the modem. If it is COM9 or less it should work. If it is COM10 or greater highlight it and select Properties-> Advanced->Advanced Port settings and see if you can change it to COM9 or less. If they are all "In Use" you are stuffed
Guest liv3wire Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 i have tried this but active sync does nothing, surely on active sync on my pc i have to enable connections via a com port? also if i select SETUP bt sync on mobile it tells me i need to bond to a device that supports serial ports or actisync profiles.
Guest Confucious Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 It should set itself up. have you: paired (bonded) your phone with the PC? Does it show up as a BT Modem in Control panel - if so what port?
Guest liv3wire Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 ive sorted it now cheers, added an incoming port on pc rebooted and connected fine via connect over bluetooth, cheers for help.
Guest Confucious Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Good - It can be a pain to set up but when it works it's great
