Garmin to SPV connectivity

I have a C500 and a Garmin ETREX (serial connection). Is there ANY way i can connect these two terrific devices? There seems to be a lot of good GPS pacakges coming out, but they all seem to rely on the Bluetooth Variety of GPS dongles. Can anyone help?

Someone else asked this once before. i think the conclusion was that it couldn't be done. Sorry.
