Guest kevlar Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I have a brand new c500 and yesterday installed a program called abstract start which changes the start menu. The program looks promissing but not ready for full use yet so I uninstalled it. Now the icons along the top of my windows default homescreen are all windows logos. I've tried changing the homescreen and then back again but no luck. Can anyone help me get the homescreen back to how it should be please? maybe post a working copy? Thanks in advance Kevlar
Guest mwille Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 There's no need for a hard reset. The icons on your homescreen (MRU list) are nothing more then a list of shortcuts defined in the registry. Since you have changed the shortcuts in your startmenu the registry entries now point to shortcuts that are no longer there. Use Regedit by PHM and find this in the phone's registry : HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Shell/StartMRU Select 'Values' Select 'InitialOrder' Edit the shortcuts you see there to match the ones in your new startmenu (storagewindows start menu) Good luck  B.t.w. : You might need to app unlock your phone to be able to edit certain registry entries. Do a search here on MoDaCo for "OTA" and you'll soon find out how to unlock
Guest kevlar Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks mwille. I have actually done exactly what you said before, but completely forgot about it. It was on my original spv and may have been almost 2 years ago. Thanks for reminding me. Cheers Kevlar
Guest kevlar Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks m8, worked a treat. Kevlar
