Guest Markay Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Hi there, my first post. I bought an Orange Spv C500 just this afternoon, i did have a nokia 6600. I thought that having a software disc would make file transfers so easy. On the Nokia you had a tree based system which did me fine for a drag and drop that copied over to the phone fine. Now i have a sync program that wont let me drag videos over to the phone, ive read the manual with nothing in there, ive looked round websites and still nothing. I would really appreciate some help on this please....anybody! Cheers in advance
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 With the phone connected to the PC you should get an item in your File Explorer (near the bottom normally) that's called "Mobile Devices", and under that you should have a "My Smartphone" (or something like that). You can browse the folders through there, and should be able to drag and drop to most of the folders. I guess some folders may be read-only, but I've never come across any. What folder are you trying to put the videos in?
Guest Palindrome Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Welcome to the site. I need a bit more info in order to help: --Does the phone successfully connect with Activesync (the Activesync icon in the taskbar should be green and your contacts should have synced with Outlook)? --How big are the video files? --To which location on the phone are you trying to copy files over to? --What, if any, error messages are you getting? Hopefully this shouldn't be too hard to sort.

Guest Markay Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks for the reply, Yes it does connect successfully with activesync I havent synced it with contacts because i dont use outlook, i use hotmail, therefore i would get other peoples contacts who use this computer wouldnt i?? The video file was 880k and im trying to copy it over to a folder i called 'my videos' There isnt any error messages, i just cant find it anywhere in media player, all i get in media player is the demo video. Just to note though, i did manage to bluetooth a video across from my nokia 6600 and i went into 'multimedia album' without any problem, i cant find that folder on activesync though. I shall have another play with it tonight and see what happens, thanks for all your help though, much appreciated
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 One reason ehy media player may not find the video file is that it is not compatable ie Divx avi. I generally use Beta Player for my video files as it's a much better player. As for the location after transfering with BT have a look in StorageMy Documents for the file in question.
Guest Markay Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Thanks for all your help, in the end i have managed to find the files, off the internet on my phone they went into "volitile" and yes, they went into "my documents".
