Guest mullema Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I had a HTC Canary (with 2003 on it) previous to my new mpx220 and I believe the 220 (or the Second Edition OS) behaves a little differently when attempting to look up a person or direct dial a number. I dont have my Canary anymore so cant check. Anyway, here's my issue: From the homescreen when I start pressing a numeric keypad item it brings up the "Contact search/dial this number" interface, but it does NOT recognise that first number that I entered. For example from the homescreen, if I pressed "2" because I want to dial 206-xxx-xxxx, then the "Contact search/dial this number" appears but without the "2" in the search/dial box. So in essence to dial 206-xxx-xxxx from the homescreen I have to type in n206-xxx-xxx where n is any number on the numeric keypad. The Canary did put that first number in the search/dial box I believe. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? Obviously its a pain in the arse. I tried reverting back to the Cingular Homescreen and that did not fix it. Thanks in advance for your help. Matt
Guest martin Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I think you're right. It's only when when you get to the later digits (i.e after area code) that it eliminates the other contacts. Very Strange :?
Guest sullivanpt Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I'm not experiencing that. If I am on the homescreen and I dial "206" I see "206" in the dial/search screen. Just a shot in the dark, but perhaps this has something to do with the selected homescreen plugin when you start dialing?
Guest mullema Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 rebooting the phone fixed the issue - thanks, matt
