Guest Clayts Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Just got the C500 and it is a nice little beasty. Currently I have only the default Orange apps installed... I have a few questions that after a days playing around I have not been able to answer: 1) How do you find out what Rom you have on the phone? 2) Is there any way to change the orange home screen so i can have the tasks on the front (on the left) rather than orange world button. If not can you provide some links so I can customise this home page? 3) In the tasks I cannot sort by due date? Is there any way to do this? 4) Do I have any options to show contacts with their phone numbers rather than just a name 5) Can i move items around in the start list? Okay thats it for now. Thanks
Guest Confucious Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 1) Start->Settings->About (and scroll down for more info) 2) http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewforum.php?f=43 3) No idea - I don't use tasts, sorry. 4) Not that I know off. Just out of interest - Why do you want to? 5) Yes -jeyo personalizer is the easiest way but you can hack the registry if you really want to. HTH
Guest Clayts Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Cheers for that! 4) Not that I know off. Just out of interest - Why do you want to? would be good to se if the number is work, mobile, home etc.... Ok I have got a few more questions... 1) The G icon comes up on my C500, does this just mean it is connected or might it be downloading something. On my xda2 you could disconnect by hold down the red hang up phone key... Anything like that here? 2) I read that when you install a home screen plug in you can't remove it. Is that right? was going to install rjtasks.
Guest Confucious Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 When my phone rings it displays the name and number of the person calling. The G icon in the Centre (next to the BT icon) just means GPRS is available. The smaller G icon on the right hand side just means it's connected. If you want to disconnect it hold down the Home key and you will get a menu that allows you to do this. Home screen plugins are for people that customise the xml of their homescreen. I use a ready made one (The Blue Futurama one). You can't, I believe, just "install" a plugin but if you do I can't see why you shouldn't be avle to uninstall it. Check out the homescreen customisation forum for more details. HTH
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I change my homescreens at least twice a week, which entails loading & uninstalling various plugins. Some times I don't bother uninstalling the plugins as they might come in useful later. For example, I've always got the analogue clock on the phone as I tend to favour skins using that. I've never had any problem with them.
