Guest LaptopLarry Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Audiovox 5600 total newbie here...I've figured out that moving mp3s into the the application data/sounds folder allows me to use the mp3s as the ringer but how can I import custom mp3s for the new sms message alert and new voice mail alert. Thanks!
Guest element Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 All of the sounds go in application datasounds... So you should be able to select the ones already in there.
Guest LaptopLarry Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 hmmm...my mp3s are in that folder and they only show up as options when selecting the ringer...maybe mp3s cannot be used as SMS alert sounds..maybe I have to use WAVs....this is strange
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 You should think yourself lucky you can use MP3s as ringtones ! It doesn't surprise me that you can't use them for other alerts as this kind of mixed functionality is common with SPV variants.
Guest element Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 wma will work... at least it does for me.
Guest akaimpreza Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 I still cant get my sms alert to use any of the wma files in StorageApplication DataSounds . This is annoying. Can anyone help please? Big-ups to al SPV users. U have a greaaatttee taste!
Guest Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 I have played a lot with my SPV C500, and what I have concluded was, WMA is fine as ringtone, but must of other tones, like sms alerts must be WAV files. To bad, because they are badword BIG !!!!! Hopefully that will be changed in a new rom/wm Jan
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 That's certainly true of the C500, but the 5600 may be different.
