Application to access USB 2.0 Portable Storage?

Is it possible to create software to access data from USB 2.0 portable storage drives on SmartPhones [C500/SMT 5600]? 4 GB usb drive key chain would make a badass portable storage device for storing DVD's.

I don't think that it's possible, the Smartphone would have to be the USB master, when it is only set up to be a slave device.

presumably you want to be able to watch the dvds on your smartphone? if that's the case, you're much better off ripping the dvd to a 176*220 pixel format with something like dvd to smartphone, or pocket divx encoder (free), saving them to your storage card and using betaplayer (also free) to play them on the phone.

it goes without saying that i am not advocating copyright theft - you must only do this with dvds that you actually own :lol:

not juz fer purpose of watching DVDs off portable storage, if its possible it can do more things like a portable transferring device between 2 storages etc.. it'll add more boost to our already POWER phone :lol:
