Guest bader308 Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Is there any way I can extract a cab file on the pc and see the contents of the file without installing it on the smartphone? When opening the cab files normally on the pc I notice files which are unreadable so they must be sort of compressed.
Guest element Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 You can use winzip to decompress the cab's
Guest Mantra Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Yes, winzip and winrar will extract the files from a cab, BUT what I'd like is to extract them to their "real" file name/type, NOT a bunch of files like 1.001! If installing the cab converts 1.001 to foo.gif, I'd like to be able to extract it as foo.gif. I can look at the _setup.xml and rename the individual files to what they're supposed to be, but that's a pain in the butt. I'd really like some way to "install" the cab on my desktop to see what files it's actually going to put on my phone. Is there any way to do this? Thanks, Dan
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Yes there is an easy way to do that. WinCE CAB Manager. :) Product homepage: http://www.ocpsoftware.com/products.php?nm=cecabmgr
