Guest nickf Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 i have managed to copy the tomtom software onto my 256Mb miniSD... but i have to browse using the explorer to find the program in order to run it. the autorun.exe doesn't seem to load anything so i have browsed the folders and found tomtom.exe. this seems to run the siftware and it then asks me for some settings options (country, miles vs. Km, time format, voice options), but then gets stuck on "no map data found". so i have come to the conlusion that i have : 1) not installed correctly (though apparently no installation required) 2) not got the folders in the right place/order/contents... would it be possible for someone who has tomtom mobile running properly to let me know the list of folders and subfolders, so i can make sure its all in the right order. i have: /storage card/tomtom mobile/2577/autorun.exe /great-britain-map/(lots of .dats and things) /system/apps/ttmobile(few files) /tomtom/(lots of files, including .chk .vif and the tomtom.exe) am i missing something?! thanks for any help! nick
Guest nickf Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 sorry, the format was lsot so those folders are a little confusing... basically, the folder "tomtom mobile" is in the storage root dir and contains the other folders: "2577", "great-britain-map", "syste" and "tomtom". hope that makes it clearer?
Guest beersoft Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 everything needs to be in the root of the storage card later Owen
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Just copy and paste exactly as it was on the mmc card to the miniSD
Guest simontan1 Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 make sure their are no directories within a directory. All should be separate and in the root of the miniSd. Try: storage card2577 storage cardyour map folder storage cardTomTom storage cardTTMOBILE When you run the .exe in the 2577 folder, it should create a Tomtom icon in your startmenu, maybe on the second or third page.
Guest nickf Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 thanks to all, this now works! i knew it would be something simple like that!! yay
Guest Confucious Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Don't you hate apps that put their files all over the place? CoPilot all sits neatly in a CoPilot directory on my storage Card
Guest bigdan Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I have just managed to get TTM working on my C500! (Wahey!.. wasn't as easy as I thought id would be.) I've found and downloaded some extra voice files but they are zipped, when i unzip them there are many files in each zip. Does anyone know which files i need and where to put them?
Guest Jasonkruys Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I have the same problem, the solution still defies me. Copied everything straight to miniSd, in exactly the same order as it was on the supplied card. ie everything in the root dir - ttmobile, tomtom, 2577, map folder. Shortcut is created, Tom Tom runs fine, but I get no maps found! Tried renaming the map folder, moving it around, everything. Copied everything across several times, nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Thought I had better ask here before I send this all back, because I have to say, from the reviews, I don't really think copilot is up to scratch.....I knew I should have stuck with mapopolis.
