Guest PilotBoi Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 OK, I'm getting that 'Attention Required' error in ActiveSync. This is only true for the Contacts, Calander, and Notes. The Inbox syncs fine. Now let me tell you what I have done. I've tried doing that ScanPST thing, there's nothing wrong with my PST file. I've tried reinstalling ActiveSync. I have a feeling it's something with Outlook. I have another snycing program, iPod Agent, for my iPod obvisouly, and recently it stopped recognizing that Outlook was present (it used to, a while ago). But at least ActiveSync gets my Inbox correctly. Which doesn't really make sense. Anyway, I was wondering if there was some way I could convert my local PST file on my computer and then just copy the converted files onto the cell phone in a certain folder. In other words i sther a a wa yot do is manally instead of automatically. I've also tried Detect and Repair for Office, but it won't work. I can't run the change/remove feature in Add/Remvoe Programs for Office, since I intalled SP1 for Office 2003 a while ago and now it can't find the installtion source. Anyways, I've delt many days on trying to solve that problem, but haven't yet. I've done my 'treasure hunts' in the registry, if you know what I mean. Here is what I'm workign with: Office Pro 2003 (which includes Outlook 2003) Windows XP Pro SP2 ActiveSync 3.7.1 Motorola MPx220 We're all SmartPhone owners here, I'm sure we can put our brains together and figure something out. Let me know if you think of anything. And remember my goal is to at least just be able to copy my info frmo my comptuer to my phone. If anything, then the contacts are most important, but my calander info I would like to have as well. Thanks, Justin
Guest Confucious Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Just a thought: IIRC when you first access Outlook it tells you a program is trying to access Outlook and asks if you want to allow this. I believe the options are something like once (for a set period of time), always or never. Could you have selected Never? In which case ActiveSync can't access your outlook.
Guest PilotBoi Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Nope, I know what you mean too. That's not the problem. But good suggestion anyway, thanks for trying to help.
Guest Parre Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Have you tried uninstall the IPOD agent and the active Sync program, restart your computer. Reinstall Office 2003 and then install active sync again? Maybe uninstall all 3 programs like a last option
Guest Confucious Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 A couple of other things: Are you using a firewall? If so, try with it turned off. Have you looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259361 - iI know it relates to older versions so not sure if it's of any help. Has ActiveSync ever worked? If so did you install something that stopped it working? Or has it never worked? Good luck
