c500 bluetooth sending

still no bluetooth sending on my c500 i have tried file manager send where i am given 2 options email or infrared i click on infrared as advised and it said searching but will not pick up any bluetooth devices i have tried my old phone my laptop and my friends phone but nothing as soon as i turn infrared on other devices it picks them up straight away please help !!!!! am i doing something terribly obviuosly wrong???? or just being blonde!!!!! please help becky x
