Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Brodit have announced that they have added a C500 holder to extensive their range of mounts. The C500 holder is designed for mounting onto their 'ProClip' range of vehicle specific mounts. I have been testing a C500 mount in my Audi A4, and can confirm that the mount is up to Brodit's usual exceptional standard, and comes highly recommended! Brodit's official UK distributors are NemesisGB, check out the Brodit Site to find distributors in other countries. A few pictures of the mount are included below. P
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 I was going to mention: Shouldnt the phone be mounted closer to the driver...then remembered that your steering wheels are installed funny in your cars there!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 LOL, you crazy americans  P
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Who took the photo's (at 26mph)? ;p
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 My assistant in the back seat, obviously  P
Guest xandercom Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 How does the phone know your speed??! Am i missing something?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 In that particular picture it's connected to the GPS in my car kit... P
Guest carphead Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 =D> Nice one Brodit. I love Brodit Kit. I've got one for my IPOD and IPAQ and highly recommend purchasing the Move Mounts to go with it. This is going to be my next purchase along with a GPS system that works  Unlike my current Hiacom that is a piece of rubish.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 Agreed, Brodit kit is top class. A friend has a BMW M3 with a Brodit mount for their Navman Sat Nav, and once again, the fit and finish is spot on. P
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 BTW, that's 10 posts now mate, you can no longer call yourself a lurker ;-) P
Guest beersoft Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 26mph? i didn't think your car went that slow more like it was you in the backseat taking photos:) and a responsible adult driving the clip looks nice but i don't think my shiny new c500 in its krusell case is going to fit in it  later Owen
Guest cruro02 Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Looks great - but where do I get one in Australia - Any one got any ideas, or alternatively, where on the web that ships to Oz...
Guest jonnyb Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Any plans to stock this in the Modaco Shop???
Guest Kallisti Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Rather helplessly, their website (the "UK distributor", though afaik, they're not sole distributors) don't actually even alow you to search for the holder side of the brodit kit. I've got the base installed in my car already (for my ipaq), but want to replace it with my c500. Guess I'll call them. However, just a note, this really is the best bit of mounting kit out there. Each car has a range of models especially made for them, mine clips itself around the stereo casing perfectly. You then can replace the holder part with something for whatever phone or PDA you have. Highly recommended, even if their distributors aren't exactly on the ball. Just checked the price (and ordered one), £15.99 for the holder (not including the vehicle mount side, just the c500), and £4.something for the postage. 8-10 days delivery time.
Guest Phunkphantom Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Whats GPS Software are you running Pau? Thanks
Guest cybercamel Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 Kallisti, did you order it from the Nemesis site? I can't find it on there at all  Let alone a price! Looks like a really good piece of kit, will probably get one as soon as I can work out the distributer's website
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 My own bit of software on there Phunkphantom ;-) P
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 NemesisGB were provided by Brodit as the UK distributor... the Brodit site (http://www.Brodit.se) is the best source of fitments etc. prior to purchase. Stocking in MoDaCo Shop? I guess if the demand is there... P
Guest carphead Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 NavCity and HandNav are the best places to buy Brodit kit in the UK. Nemesis are the UK Reps for brodit but don't sell to the public. Normally it takes quite a while before they show up on the Handnav and NavCity sites but once they do they're normally ex-stock Paul - Considering I've only got 10 posts on this site I'll stay as a lurker
Guest GotPhil Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 It appears that their USA site is ProClipUSA.com and on the site I can't find the c500 holder anywhere. The only reason I can think of this is that in the US its usually the 5600 but wouldn't the mount be the same? I really have been looking for this and can't wait to get one, if I can't buy it on the USA site does anyone know if one of the international sites will ship to the US?
Guest underpaid Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 The best holder around, already got one for my 2215 and now I want one for my SP3. I contacted ProClip i the US, gave them the Brodit partno and asked if and when they will stock it..... so far no response. I'll keep you posted.
Guest GotPhil Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I just got a response from ProClip USA: This item will be in stock next week and posted on www.proclipusa.com later this week.
Guest markhempstead Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 cool, just ordered mine in the UK for my puma from http://www.handnav.co.uk/ was £29.99 inc VAT for clip and holder. (only listed as qtek 8010 rather than spv c500 at the moment..)
Guest underpaid Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Also got response from ProClip (including price): The Holder will be in stock next week and should be posted on the web site later this week. The price will be $19.95ea.
