Orange UK - MPX20 release date ... ?

Hi all,

I know I am asking a question that many people want to know the answer to, but I ask because I am trying to forward-plan !

The question, as indicated in the subject header, is whether anyone knows anything about dates for release of the MPX220 on Orange UK ???

I've read recently about two sets of firmware problems in the USA, so clearly that is going to have an effect, and Orange cust service just say that the handset is under review - on three calls, I've heard dates of November, December, and January !

Any clarity ( I'm not looking for exact dates ) would be really handy !

I've had similarly vague responses. To be honest, I'm not sure what to do: I had the last three SPVs and love them, but I really would prefer a clam-shell and the MPX220 specs look better than the C500.

Should I wait for the MPX220, or tie myself to the C500 for a year in December when my E200 contract is up?

Any opinions? Thanks!

i'd wager how important the megapixel camera and clam form factor are to you. The c500 is a cracking phone and easily the best SPV to date, and has less bugs than the 220 if the forums are anything to go by.

Personally, I'm after an mpx220 as I prefer the clam form factor. Horses for courses!

Hey guys

It seems other people are getting similar sorts of answers to me then :D !

I've got a 200 presently, and that's a cracking little phone - the only additions I need are the ones that the 220 provides - and it's a great piece of ID ( Industrial Design ) too !

Question is ... WHEN ?

I was thinking perhaps some of the forum members may be working at Orange UK or know people there that can give us some idea ... even just a month would be helpful.

Based on the reviews I've read, I think the only "app" I am going to need to install is a new personalised theme - other than that, should be good !

I really really want this phone.. not least because of quad band and the fact that it looks so much more lovely than the C500..

I went into O2 last week and they didn't have it on the system... not only that but the bloke couldn't find it on the Moto website, and therefore told me that it doesn't exist..

Somebody from Orange leek some info.. anything.. just a glimmer..

O2 UK i've told me this morining that the 20th of December is scheduled as a TENTATIVE release date.

Hmm should i ring Orange now and get them to cancel my contract?! O2s online tariffs are far better than oranges.
