Hey everyone,

I have a classic SPV on O2 and i love it, everything works great, but i have a problem with picture (MMS) txts. Every time someone sends me one i get a txt from O2-alert telling me i've received a new media message, and then i have to go to www.o2.co.uk/mm and put in my number and a pin to see it. First time i saw this i thought 'great, i'll just go on the internet on my phone, sorted:)' but when i tried it told me that my browser wasn't compatible with the site, and i needed explorer 6, ie PC version.

I can still get my picture txts, but only when i have access to a pc, which slightly takes the edge off the whole being sent a picture to your phone thing.

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort this it would be much appreciated!!

Cheers!!

It will most probably be your MMS settings. If you do a search for O2 settings or mms settings you will find many threads where people have posted these settings.

have just done a search for o2 settings, and founds loads, although none seem to have worked for mms or for the internet, so i've emailed 02 asking them to send me some settings 8)

They may do but when I tried they said the Smartphones were not supported. However O2 are soon due to launch a smartphone so hopefully you can use the settings for that. Think its one of the Motorola ones.

got internet settings from o2.... and they don't work either!! (although they did activate my phone for MMS, so think thats sorted now  )

Anyone know anything else that could be causing my internet not to work? Every time i try to go online it says it's finding the site for about a minute, and then tells me the page cannot be found!:D

I had this problem when i had my motorola, when i rang o2 for the prob, i didnt have mms enabled on my sim, they enabled it and told me to send a mms to myself first, done what they asked and from there on all worked 100%.

However O2 are soon due to launch a smartphone so hopefully you can use the settings for that. Think its one of the Motorola ones.

When i saw the m2000, i had to look on ebay.co.uk, and to my suprise, there sat a m2000 with o2's name on it 8) Item number 6345545540

yes guys if you are getting the refer to website message it indicates that you need mms enabled on your sim.

general setup for gprs connectivity, and note you need to set up the wap over gprs for mms to work.....

access point: wap.o2.co.uk

username: o2wap

pwd: password

MMS

pwd: password

Go back to Connections and set up a proxy connection

O2 Proxy

Connects to: WAP Network

Proxy: 193.113.200.195:9201

Type: WAP

Go back to Data Connection page (done twice)

Gprs Connections

Internet Connection: Internet

Work connection: automatic

WAP connection: wap

Secure Wap Connection: MMS

then Press the Home key

To Set up MMS

start -> configurations -> MMS Settings

Hi, i've just tried thoses settings and they haven't worked for me, so have gone back to my old ones which worked a while back.

With these ones they let me connect to the internet, but then internet explorer it always gives me a 'cannot find page' message. However, i can connect to msn, and send MMS. I have emailed O2 and they've enabled my phone for MMS, but now when someone (including me) sends me a MMS i just get two blank txts from 82020 dated 12/04/65!!

The settings i'm using worked fine until a few weeks ago, so i'm thinking it's not them, so are there any other settings or bugs anywhere which could be giving me these problems?

Hey everyone,

I've just called o2 (on a really expencive number :( :( :( ) and they've basically told me you just can't recieve mms's on the the classic spv!! So am a bit annoyed about that one, but what can you do?

I'm still having internet problems, but i'm now pretty sure these are unrelated, so have started a new post on them.

Thanks everyone for you help! :)

I think O2 might be right.

On a classic SPV you just get text messages from 8020 (or something like that) when an MMS is received but MMS will work in an HTC Typhoon. Obviously O2 have updated something and maybe the older versions of smartphones are somehow incompatible.

could be a software version issue on the classic.
