Guest steve_smith Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Hi all, Yeah, I know Bluetooth, modems and GPRS have been discussed a few times before  I just got a Dell Axim X50V Pocket PC, and wanted to set it up to use the Orange GPRS connection on my C500 via Bluetooth (makes life a little easier when you have a VGA screen to surf the web). Anyway, I read the many posts on here, but not many (any?) seem to apply to a Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. I noticed a few problems trying to set up the extra dial string (the box wouldn't accept the length of the string someone had posted). I found that if I simply pair the devices and then tell it to dial *99# (no other settings changed from their defaults, username and password left blank), then it does indeed work with no fiddling, but the phone gives you no clue what GPRS profile it is using. So I found (by Googling) that this connection string should work with Orange GPRS: +CGDCONT=1,"IP","orangeinternet" I entered that in to the appropriate box, and again it works fine. However, I notice the little "G" in the top right corner of the screen has been replaced with a left and right arrow. Is this normal when using GPRS via Bluetooth? What I really wanted to check with the experts on here is whether the way I have configured my Pocket PC looks OK? I don't want to end up getting my bill in and find that I've been charged a fortune because I'm using the wrong GPRS connection  I see the default GPRS connection on the phone ("Orange GPRS") also uses "orangeinternet" as the username, so I assume this is the right connect string, and GPRS connections I make from my Pocket PC will use my 5Mb monthly allowance? Thanks for any reassurance or help, Steve.
