Guest huw.evans Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 I have a C500 Smartphone and version 3.7.1 of ActiveSync installed on my Windows XP (service pack 1) machine at work. Recently, ActiveSync has totally failed to detect the Smartphone when I plug in the USB cable. I have tried reinstalling ActiveSync. I have tried going back to version 3.6 of ActiveSync. No joy. I have removed the USB host drivers and windows has reinstalled these, no difference. I have rebooted a number of times and have killed the activesync process but this hasn't made a difference either. When I plug the phone in Windows detects the new hardware, even telling me its a C500 Smartphone, so the driver is working and the cable is OK. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could try next? I *could* reinstall my Windows XP machine but that seems a little over the top, and it's also an incredible waste of my time. Any help would be good as it's a bit pointless having a Smartphone that can't interact with a PC.
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Might it be the firewall settings ? Are you using a USB hub ? Have a read of this thread and see if any if this applies to you : http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ight=activesync
