GPS Software for use on foot and in car?

Is there one product that is good for navigation on foot (i.e. lost whilst walking the back streets around london) and also good for navigation in the car (i.e. lost in another major city on the B??? road)?

Also, which is the best BT GPS receiver (in your opinions)?
