Guest what-a-mess Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Hello all, I use Oracle Calendar (Corporate Time) at work and I need to sync my mobile with this rather than Outlook. Is this possible? Also, is there alternative software to ActiveSync? Keir
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Welcome to the forum  AFAIK there is no alternative to ActiveSync for PCs, though there is an alternative for Macs. Neither have I heard of any software to allow you to sync with any calendar other than Outlook.
Guest what-a-mess Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Fair enough. Don't you just love the Microsoft "Tie-in" working ethos - as if they haven't got enough already. I would like to leave this open to others if they have found alternative ways of ActiveSync-ing, using different Calendar systems, or even an alternative mobile OS to Windows Mobile... And pigs may fly...? Cheers.
Guest mwille Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Neither have I heard of any software to allow you to sync with any calendar other than Outlook. You can sync (kind of) with Lotus Notes using mNotes.... But this is rather expensive not to mention that it doesn't help what-a-mess very much
Guest Confucious Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Does this help? http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/2755.html
Guest xerxes Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Intellisync is supposed to be able to sync MS Smartphones with a variety of PIMs. I know it used to work with Oracle Interoffice but I don't know about Collaberation Suite.
Guest what-a-mess Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Intellisync is supposed to be able to sync MS Smartphones with a variety of PIMs. I know it used to work with Oracle Interoffice but I don't know about Collaberation Suite. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you know any more information about the above? I'd be interested in experimenting further. The problem is often I am unsure who to contact - orange, microsoft or HTC! Or where to get the relevant software etc... In fact, does anyone have contact email / number for HTC (there is nothing on their rubbish website)... Man I'd love the smartphone if I could sync it with Thunderbird and Mozilla calendar... *dreams of perfect calendar synchronisation* Keir
Guest chucky.egg Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 (edited) There is an open-source project going to develop a sync tool for Thunderbird. Can't recall the URL right now, but have a search for my username and Thunderbird and there shouldn't be many hits. [edit] That SyncML client could be useful though. Never heard of one before. [/edit] [edit 2] http://www.synthesis.ch/support_e.php Looks good, with push email etc, until you get to the price - $60 for a single user Smartphone licence  That'll be why nobody's ever heard of it then!
