Gah! Trying to application un-lock my C500

Now this has probably been talked of before but I've been going round the twist with the search and am not getting anywhere so some help would be much appreciated!

Baiscally the C500 on orange (in the uk at least) doesn't run unsigned games, yes? And in order to let it there is an orange developer site that lets you remove the application lock, if this is the case then can someone please point me in the right direction!
