Guest glanv Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Hi Can anybody help or advise? I have re-arranged my start menu using explorer on my desktop, and nearly everything has worked OK. However the calendar link on my homescreen no longer works and an error reports: "Error opening shortcut or locating the target filename." This occurs when I click on either of the two options 'Today' or 'New appointment'. How do I go about fixing this broken shortcut? I have tried to look for the file that represents the shortcut but I have no idea what I am looking for or where it might be. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Cheers
Guest glanv Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 Hello again I have since tried changing the registry details for StartMRU by prefixing the calendar.lnk with the folder I moved it to, but I am still receiving the same error! If someone could advise me how to solve this it would be much appreciated. Kind regards Glanv
Guest XePeR Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 for glanv: you need to have TWO extra, blank lines [enter, enter] after the last .lnk entered in the registry key
Guest glanv Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Thanks XePeR I tried the two extra lines but it doesn't seem to have solved it. Anyway, I have downloaded a new homescreen and everything works OK. Many thanks for your help!
