Email doesn't automatically check for mail

i have my email set up to automatically check for email's every two hours - but it seems to do it only once or twice a day - does anyone else have this problem and know why?

If you turn your phone off it doesn't atomatically check for mail until you have done a manual check but after that it should check at the set interval. Could that be your problem?

i'll have to try that and see if it works. i know i have to turn it off then back on every few days because it seems to clogg up and the internet connection doesn't work. so maby thats my problem.

i've got another question if anyone knows. the little "g" by the signal bars indicates that the GPRS is active. once i go onto the net that g lights up and never turns off - is it sucking energy and if so how do i get it to turn off after i'm done with the net?

Doesn't happen with mine but if you have a C500 you can hold down the "dial" key to get a secret menu from which you can manually disconnect the GPRS connection.

It's not the "dial" key on the C500, it's the home key but as nycsteve is in NY it's more likely that he has a 5600 which doesn't have this option.

the "g" just means you are connected to GPRS but unless you are downloading anythinG i don't beklive it uses enough power to worry about.

I have the same problem. I have mine set to fetch every 30 min and it maybe checks it twice. I've also have other problems, it will not fetch all the email even though I have it set to fetch all. The first day I had the phone it took three times to fetch all. The other problem is that every once in a while it will ask me for my password even though I have it checked to save. I unlocked the phone the first the first day I got it and I'm wondering if that is causing the problems because they were happening on both ATT and T-Mobile networks.
