Guest HORSECHESTNUT Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I might resolve a volume control problem with my new SPV C500 phone. The volume control buttons have suddenly become inactive, I suspect it may have to do with some new skins I put on (I've removed them since). I've tried changing the Home screens to defaults etc, but the volume buttons on the side of the unit don't work. I have tried to identify any changes to .dll files etc. but am unfamiliar with the system - can anyone help? The volume controls on WMP work OK (using the toggle bar). Many Thanks
Guest martin Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 I would consider hard resetting the phone and restoring it to it's original state. Make sure you have a backup of your contacts etc if you do decide to reset the phone  http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=113022
Guest flyswat Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 I have the same/similar problem sometimes when installing skins on my E100. If the skin contains system screens, such as for the volume screen, sometimes it doesn't always work properly and the screen for the volume vanishes (the volume keys still work, but the screen has simply disappeared). I use the attached cab file to repair the screens, though as I have a E100 not a C500 I am not sure if it'll work properly.... :?:
Guest HORSECHESTNUT Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 That has done the trick! The CAB file appears to have resolved the problem. The volume bar has re-appeared and the volume buttons are working again. Thanks for the help, I'm sure one day I'll be faced with a hard reset, but not today. :) :(
