Yes, connect phone via activesync and set activesync pass-through to connect to the internet. On your phone select "pass through" as your internetconnection in settings-data connections.

Unless you meant you want to connect the pc to the internet using the phone as a modem. That I haven't tried yet :lol:

Settings I don't know.. never back that up.

Contacts are synced to Outlook on the pc and can be re-synced back to the phone after a hard reset.. Even if you don't use Outlook otherwise that is still the easiest way to back up your contacts..

There is a program called Sprite that can backup your phone to either the storage card or to the PC. It saves all settings as well. It is not free however.

thanks, id be interested in Sprite. on the ngage qd, there was a built-in option for backing up phone contents which was used often since it only worked every other day. Posted from my SmartPhone!
