I ordered an SP3i a couple of days ago but the company and provider are messing me about wanting deposits and proof of address. I've cancelled the order for now.

My decision is, is the SP3i much better than the C500? I know internally they're the same with just the joystick being the only major difference.

As I can go and collect a C500 from an Orange shop for free on the tariff I want whereas the SP3i was going to cost me £35 and having to pay a deposit/send in proof of address etc.

Yep, the i-mate SP3i has slightly different style, keys, joystick and ROM to the C500 but otherwise they are the same phone internally and both run the same programs. I wouldn't say that either phone is better than the other - it's down to preference.

I don't think you would be dissapointed with a C500

Can anyone tell me whether the SP3i is due for release by Orange?? (I suppose I should ask Mr Orange) + does the joystick support diagonal movement...?

just up | down | left and right unfortunately, regarding release on orange, not quite sure they would do that as they have invested much into the c500.

Mr Orange actually left Orange for O2 and hasn't been replaced...

I have an I-Mate SP3 (C500), would rather choose SP3i

Why? I suppose it's personal preference but I think the C500 looks way better than the SP3i.

i agree that the C500 looks better tho SP3i i want just so i can play games properly.. the multi-press issue on the c500 is a joke.
