Guest jvo8 Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Phone: SMT5600 (locked) Does anyone know how do delete this folders / files from directory. Nothing worked except for a hard reset. (This is not acceptable becuase all settings will have to be re-entered again) How can we install various programs to try out if it will never completely get removed from our phones? Eventually it will become a memory problem. Thank you for you help.files.jpg
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Hi. Those are files/folders created by the programs you installed. If you open the folders, you'll get to see a *.tmp inside. The tmp file contains information regarding installation directory, registry changes mde by the 3rd party app (if there is) and uninstall infromation. My experience with deleting those folder/files... I can no longer install an updated version of an app. From your screenshot, if for example I remove Centacto Smartris folder and its contents, I will no longer be able to re-install the app using a cab installer. Those files will be removed from your device when you uninstall the app.
Guest jvo8 Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Thanks PZEE. But my (and other SMT5600 users) problem is that we've unintalled the programs and this folder is still there. We can't delete it. It has one file inside with a ".tmp" format. All we want to do is uninstall these programs and delete these folders as well.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 You mean all those folders are still on your phone? Im sorry about that. Dont know about how the 5600 handles stuffs like that. I will have to experiment on that when I get hold of my new C500 toy. For now lets wait for other's inputs re your concern.
Guest Johnny Yen Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Pzee, they can be manually deleted with the C500, but the SMT5600 seems to treat them as system files. It's a strange one :?
